(Queen's Park) - This evening, Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop will attend the opening ceremony of Le Festival du Loup de Lafontaine to officially present a $5,000 cheque from the Eves government. The funding comes from the Ministry of Tourism and Recreation"s Tourism Event Marketing Partnership (TEMP) program.

"Our government is proud to sponsor this successful event for the very first time," said Dunlop. "This celebration of French Canadian culture is an event for children and adults alike to enjoy."

The 2nd Annual Festival du Loup (Festival of the Wolf) de Lafontaine is being held this weekend in Lafontaine. The expected 3,000 attendees will be provided with unique opportunities to experience French Canadian culture through demonstrations and workshops. Traditional French songs, dance and food, as well as an historical artifact exhibition and Saturday evening musical experience in the park, will be featured at the festival.

Le Festival du Loup was recently named one of the top three francophone festivals in Ontario by l'Association Professionneles de la Chanson et de la Musique.
