(Orillia) –Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop is reminding all Ontarians that the countdown is on to McGuinty’s Tax Grab Day!  Three months from now there will be an extra 8% added to our daily spending, as a result of the largest tax hike in Ontario’s history imposed by the McGuinty Liberals.

Orillia: Statistics Canada today reported that, under Dalton McGuinty, Ontario continues to drag down Canada’s economy. The McGuinty Government presided over the loss of 16,600 jobs in December, by far the worst performance in the country. Over the past year, the McGuinty Liberals have presided over the loss of 141,600 jobs. Given that the Holiday season usually produces stronger job results, December’s weak job numbers provide even more proof that Dalton McGuinty’s tax grabs, record deficits and runaway spending are driving jobs out of Ontario.

Queens’s Park: Today, Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop announced the Ontario PC Caucus’ intention to introduce the eHealth Ontario Spending Accountability Act, 2009, in the Ontario legislature next week. This Bill will be introduced by Ted Chudleigh, MPP (Halton), and calls for the Lieutenant Governor in Council to order a public inquiry to answer questions about the eHealth Scandal.

Orillia: Seven months after Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop tabled a Private Member’s Resolution that asked the government to support our troops by designing a graphic licence plate, the province has announced it will now issue licence plates embossed with a yellow ribbon and the words “Support Our Troops.”

(Orillia): In their March 26 budget, the McGuinty Government promised to create 146,000 new jobs over this year and 314,000 jobs by the end of 2010-11. Today, seven months later, Statistics Canada has revealed that not only has the McGuinty Government failed to create jobs any jobs, but an additional 32,000 jobs have, in fact, been lost since the budget was introduced.

(Queen’s Park) –Today the provincial legislature passed second reading of Simcoe North MPP Garfield Dunlop’s private member’s bill, Bill 32, Disposal Site 41 in the Township of Tiny Act, 2008. The House voted 40 to11 to approve second reading of the bill.
